I put in an order to tirerack.com for the Granite Alloy 13's they are a 18x9 with a 0mm offset. Id like to get as close as I can to a true 33" terra grappler as I can. By the time I get the wheels Ill have the rancho quicklift leveling kit installed. The tech i spoke to at tirerack says I might have trouble fitting a 33" tire under my truck with the 0mm offset? This confused me a bit because the rancho tech claims I can fit a 35" tire in there with minor trimming. My questions are will a 33" terra grappler fit under a 2004 FX4 with a level and wheel 18x9 0mm offset? and if so how far should I expect the tire to stick out past the fender? and lastly are there any suggestions on what size tire to get, 305/60/18? Thanks for any input?

Ok, I've been reading for hours on tunes, tuners etc....

I've got a 2010 supercab 4x4 with the 2v 4.6. Only "performance" mod is exhaust. Right now the truck is leveled sitting on 295/70/18's and I've lost some power. Down the road I plan on going with some 4.56 gears and lockers front and rear.

My question is, is a tuner worth the money or should I hold off until I'm ready for gears too? I'll be running a canned tune until the truck receives some more attention under the hood & gears. I'd like to get some of the power I lost.

I do tow occasionally but it's only a 4 horse, horse trailer and the truck does it just fine right now.

I've been looking at the GRYPHON CS from PHP mainly because everyone raves about the product and I like the in cab monitor function.

http://www.powerhungryperformance.co..._cts_gas.shtml

Should I go ahead and splurge on the $500 tuner/pod or hold off?

EDIT: I've owned several 10, 11, and 12 second cars and have been through the tuning world before. I know the tuner won't turn the truck into a speed demon but I'd like just a little umph when I hit the go pedal.

Many of you have been really helpful with my stupid truck questions throughout the last few years and because I dont know as much as many on here, I dont get the opportunity to offer much help and advice like Id like to, so I thought Id share the tire deal I just got.
I have been interested in the Kelly Safari TSR's for some time but hard to find them for less than their 289 retail price. So I saw a sale at JC Whitney today for 205 but still 59$ heavy freight charge even though they listed free shipping...SOOOO I got on their chat and argued with the guy and he ended up telling me that if I DONT use the code for the free shipping, but instead use CODE: AJRV17 that it would take 15% more off the already incredible price of $205. I did it, and after all was said and done, got a set of 315/70/17s (35x12.50's) to my door for $783.07
Now nobody go and rain on my parade and tell me these tires suck :) I did a lot of research and they seem like really good tires (Made by Goodyear). Maybe not Thompsons, Cepeks, or Procomps, but i have read a lot of good reviews and am happy with the price for sure.
Hope it helps someone else.

I had no marks on the chains or sprockets before I removed the tensioners.

Ive read a few threads on timing but have no idea what kinda tension the phaser is suppose to have? seems like I can spin the phaser a few inches without the cam moving.
